Jeff Gutierrez is a musician, teacher, composer, permaculturist, and wilderness guide living in Moab, UT.
As a professional musician he has toured the US and Europe with a wide variety of bands, orchestras and DJ's. His musical studies at Northwestern and Arizona State University earned him a masters in Music Education and Jazz Studies. While in school he won the Downbeat Magazine Student Award for top collegiate jazz soloist, and developed a curriculum for playing and teaching music in the outdoors.
During his time as a professional musician living in New York City, Jeff founded East West Music, a music school offering private lessons and jazz workshops.
Jeff is a passionate and experienced outdoorsman. His love of the outdoors has taken him backpacking and packrafting across the world. Sharing his love of the natural world led him to guiding backpacking, whitewater rafting, jeeping and hiking tours In the Southwest US and Alaska.
Playing music outdoors in beautiful places has been a natural progression with his move to Moab in 2009 and the desire to share this incredible experience with others has led to creating Natural Resonance.
